Two Graves County High School students participated in the TRIO Talent Search on the campus of Murray State University this summer. Abby Maguire, a senior at GCHS, and Gracie Colley, a junior, were two of 23 students selected for this program. In addition to gaining an early taste of campus life, they took part in leadership and team building activities led by Paradigm Shift.
“It was really fun,” said Maguire. “They had people come in and play games with the students that taught us life lessons.”
“It was very useful,” added Colley, “I now know where campus buildings are; and, I’m glad I got the college experience early.”
Talent Search at Murray State University is a federal grant program funded by the US Department of Education. The goal of the TRIO Talent Search is to increase the number of students who successfully transition from high school and graduate from a post-secondary institution.
